RDS is a subsidiary of Central Access Corporation. Established in 1954, Central Access was formerly known as Central School Supply were a leading distributor of school products including teaching aids, furniture and equipment. In the 1980’s Central began serving industry through its audio-visual and technology divisions. Today, we continue to serve both the business and educational community through our software development and IT divisions. We strive to give our clients systems that are state-of-the-art, yet simple to use and carry the most affordable prices in the industry. Today – Central Access Corporation serves the software and support needs of educational school markets in the southeast. After the devastation of Hurricane Katrina, we knew, to safeguard against future disasters, that an economic method of protecting the school’s data had to be developed. And thus RDS, Remote Data Security, was born. We have had such a powerful response from the public school sector that it was decided to offer this product to municipalities, small business owners and personal computer users.

Since 1988, Central Access Corporation has been designing, building and supporting software. We understand the data protection needs of very large enterprise applications as well as remote personal computer users. Our infrastructure, using F5 and Cisco products for security and load balancing, was built to handle very large amounts of data. We maintain over 8 terra bytes at our primary site as well as our replication site in Austin, Texas. Our experience includes supporting over 80 remote SQL servers and a Network Operation Center that does not break a sweat handling over 2000 concurrent connections at its peak!
